"CPDM is intimidating PAP militants" - Ayah Paul, PAP Chairman

Ayah
Hon. Lord Justice Ayah Paul Abine, National Chairman of the Popular Action Party, PAP has urged members and sympathisers of his party to not be intimidated by the CPDM.
He says ahead of a "Unity March" organised by the CPDM this December 6 in Buea, members of his party are being froced to turnout to swell CPDM ranks.

His words:
"DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED
I have been briefed by the intelligence unit of my party - PAP - that some so-called CPDM elites are threatening Tole Tea Estate and CDC workers (some of whom are PAP members) with dismissal if they failed to attend the CPDM rally billed for today December 6, 2016.
In 2008, all of Biya's weapons were pointed to my head. But I stood my ground as the lone voice that argued that removal of presidential term limit is/was immoral. I did it alone ... what about you - the CDC workers? You are in your thousands.
By this notice, I call on all of you to massively boycot any such rally. The times are too serious for you to succumb to such pettinness. The carpet has already shifted from beneath their feet.
Stay home! Justice4all is watching... the world is watching..."

Saudi-based African Development Foundation constructs new Mosque in Buea, Cameroon

Cameroon Headlines, Buea, June 29 - Muslim faithful in Buea, capital of Cameroon’s South West Region now have another mosque. The Sharaif Falah Al Utaybi Mosque at Mile 17 Buea was inaugurated and opened for worship last Friday, June 20.
The Masjid at Mile 17 worth over FCFA 12 million was constructed by the African Development Foundation (ADF) with funding from Saudi born Sharaif Falah Al Utaybi through her brother, Sheik Ruhaym Al Utaybi.
Clement Fon Ndikum, Secretary General at the South West Governor’s Office during the inauguration of the Masjid called on Muslim faithful to strengthen their faith in the Almighty Allah, the most gracious and most merciful.
Fon Ndikum said at a time when threats are coming from terrorist and extremist groups using the name of Islam for evil, Muslims should join government to wage a war against the enemy. He prescribed vigilance as the key, advising the faithful to report all suspicious acts and persons to the competent administrative authority.
The South West scribe doffed his hat to the ADF for using three months to put up “such an architectural masterpiece”.
On his part, Sheik Abdellatif Hassana, Director of the ADF said his institution has a track record of development in Cameroon. He said over 20 mosques have been constructed by the ADF, as well as Training Centres for Imams in Foumban and Babanki and a youth training centre in Bamenda.
Sheik Abdellatif Hassana said they have done a lot in the areas of providing health car and education.
Sarki Suley Mohamadou Musa of the Muea Mosque used the occasion to remind Muslims of the significance of praying in the masjid. He said Allah is great and that Islam is synonymous to peace and love. He thanked the Buea Council for providing the land and speeding up the administrative procedures that led to the construction of the mosque.
He said after the Mile 17 mosque, they look forward to construct an Islamic Complex that will comprise a school, a health centre, a community hall and a modern library.
Patrick Esunge Ekema, Mayor of Buea said “…it is wonderful and commendable that this structure was put up within the shortest time possible. We are pleased that the land we offered to you was well utilised.”
The mayor said land will also be allocated for the construction of the Islamic Complex in Buea, assuring the Muslim faithful of his constant support and availability.
The Sharaif Falah Al Utaybi Mosque at Mile 17 Buea can take 350 persons. It also has a borehole that provides water.

Prioritise Youth Sexual, Reproductive Health Rights; government urged

Cameroon Headlines, Buea, June 25 - Government has been urged to prioritize Youth’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) in the elaboration of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
Zoneziwoh Mbondgulo Wondieh, WFAC Founder & Executive Director
This was one of the resolutions taken during a strategic meeting for “The Prioritization on Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in the Post2015 Deliberations”.
Meeting in Buea, June 10, 22 youth leaders and rights advocates called on government to ensure that  “our women and youths live a fulfilling and improved life, that respect the full realisation of their human rights, dignity and integrity”.
The 22 youth leaders and activists representing 10 youth-led organizations across the country were convened for an Experts Strategic Meeting on “The prioritization on Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in the Post2015 Deliberations” by the Women For A Change, (WFAC) Cameroon.
Participants at the meeting have all been actively engaged in the Post-2015 process for over 14 months.
A press release after the strategic meeting states that "...Today, Women for a Change (WFAC) Buea in collaboration with like-minded youth organisations involved in the UN Post-2015 Discourses organized a consultative advocacy workshop aimed at lobbying for the prioritization of specific youth and women issues by the Cameroon government during Post-2015 intergovernmental negotiation meetings..."
"...The discussions involved developing ideas, brainstorming and building strategies on how to engage and gain the government’s support in promoting strong language around youth priorities and the dissemination of information on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), SRH education and services for young people and adolescents with respect to their human rights.”
“Acknowledging the government’s endeavor and interest demonstrated during the last Commission on Population and Development towards advancing development aspects and global sustainable partnership into post2015 negotiations, as youth leaders, we understand and believe wholeheartedly that global development and sustainable partnership cant be realised if young people issues, particularly  women and girls health and wellbeing remain unaddressed; universal access to comprehensive, youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health information, education, and services are absent,” the release further states.
Zoneziwoh Mbondgulo, Founder  & Executive Director of WFAC Cameroon said “…as grassroots youth and women’s right activists, we have a chance now to add our voice to the global call on the future we want. We need to engage the government and ensure they commit in prioritizing youth’s issues and the full realization of their sexual and reproductive health rights, dignity and integrity”.
The WFAC advocacy stands on the belief that investment made now on youth and women health will create lasting progress in the attainment of Cameroon’s Vision2035.
